Italian newspaper 'Tuttosport' has named the three finalists for the Golden Boy 2012 award which it gives to the best under-21 player in Europe each year.
Two La Liga players have made it onto the shortlist, Málaga midfielder Isco and Atlético Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, while the other candidate is AC Milan striker Stephan El Shaarawy, who has been one of the revelations this season in Serie A.
A number of Spaniards made it onto the longlist of candidates, such as Barcelona B midfielderDeulofeu, Real Madrid Castilla forward Jesé, Athletic Bilbao midfielder Iker Muniain and Atlético Madrid midfielder Koke.
The votes were cast by 30 journalists from 20 countries, and the winner will be named the week before Christmas.
