Manchester City trainer Roberto Mancini wants to sign the Brazilian superstar and will hold talks with his new sporting director to secure his signature, according the Sunday People.
Brazilian player Neymar Da silva Santos Júnior continues to cause a stir in Europe. The biggest clubs around the continent are still looking for to land one of the most sought-after players on the planet and it looks like Manchester City, and their large pot of money, could tempt him to ply his trade in England.

City coach Roberto Mancini wants the player in his squad next season and would be willing to pay 50 million pounds for the privilege, according to the Sunday People, as Begiristain will attempt to work his magic. "Txiki" already tried to bring the player to Barcelona when he was sporting director, between 2008 and 2010, which could prove to be an advantage over other clubs in the race to sign the player currently on Santos' books.

However, the club that looks to be in the best position is Barcelona, who are working tirelessly to sign the Santos ace and form a mouthwatering partnership with Leo Messi. There are also rumours that the Catalonian club have already paid six million euros as part of a preference deal, although Santos insist that no negotiations for the player have taken place.

Roberto Mancini wanted Begiristain as the sporting director to give them "the opportunity to move swiftly to sign certain players". That said, even if the Premier League club do manage to sign Neymar, whether or not he will play under Mancini remains to be seen given the pressure he is under to retain the Premier League title. Pep Guardiola is currently rumoured to be his replacement and also has experience of working with Begiristain at Barcelona.
