British paper "The Sun" claims that Barcelona are planning to try and buy the Belgian, currently at Atlético Madrid on loan from Chelsea, who would like him back.

Although Chelsea are interested in getting him back next season, Barcelona are considering trying to sign Thibaut Courtois, according to 'The Sun'. The current Atlético Madrid keeper, on loan from The Blues, could be Barcelona's future number '1'.

The British paper affirms that Barcelona see Courtois, despite his youth, as the perfect replacement for Victor Valdés, when his form begins to drop off. The 'azulgrana' know that they still have a goalkeeper for many years, but the acquisition of the Belgian would be an operation with a long-term perspective.

Courtois' price tag is currently around 15 million euros, though that could shoot up in the next few years if his development continues as it has been (in 2011 he cost Chelsea 8 million). That's why Barça are planning his transfer for this summer, before he becomes too expensive.
