'El Apache' also revealed the best way to stop Ronaldo. "You have got to try and make sure he doesn't get in behind you. You have to try and stop him further up the field."

Carlos Tévez has declared that Cristiano Ronaldo "believes he is the best player in the world" but the Argentine has no doubt that his compatriotLeo Messi is superior.

"I think it's understandable that Cristiano believes he is the best in the world," Tévez told a press conference ahead of Manchester City'sChampions League match with Real Madrid on Wednesday.

"Any player who scores between 37 and 40 goals per season has the right to believe that, but if you ask me, I will always say Messi."

Cristiano is one of the best players in the world and I'm sure tomorrow he'll play the same as he always does. It seems like he never feels pressure. We'll have to keep an eye on him at all times."

'El Apache' also revealed what he thinks is the most effective way to stop Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I think that you have got to try and make sure he doesn't get in behind you. Once he gets a chance to run at you he is very dangerous and he strikes the ball well too so you have to try and stop him further up the field."
