Former Barcelona boss Pep Guardiola, a reported target for Chelsea, would an ideal candidate to replace Mano Menezes as Brazil manager, according to Selecao legend Ronaldo.
Guardiola is currently on sabbatical after leaving Barcelona at the end of last season and has been tipped to succeed Roberto di Matteo on a permanent basis at Chelsea, while the Catalan has also been linked with Manchester United.
Along with Chelsea and Manchester United, becoming the next manager of Brazil is also among the reported possibilities for Guardiola, and Ronaldo believes the Nou Camp legend would make a fine appointment.
But Ronaldo, who played alongside Guardiola at Barcelona, admits that the 41-year-old could only be a success with Brazil if the fans accept him as Menezes' successor.
"Guardiola is today the best in the world," the former Real Madrid superstar told Globo.
"He did a great job for Barcelona and would be a candidate for the national team. We’d have to see if the fans approve.
"We have great coaches here in Brazil. What we need is a coach that brings tranquillity."
Guardiola's next destination continues to be one of the most talked about topics in football, particularly following Di Matteo's departure from Chelsea last week.
Former Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez has been appointed by Chelsea on an interim basis, but Guardiola is still the favourite with the bookmakers to take the job for the long-term.
However, it was reported by The Sun on Sunday that Guardiola is ready to reject the advances of Chelsea in order to wait for an eventual approach from Manchester United.
Ferguson celebrated his 26th anniversary in charge of Manchester United earlier this month, and could reportedly retire from duty at the end of the season.
