ANDRE VILLAS-BOAS watched a Gareth Bale masterclass then admitted he may not be able to keep him at Spurs.
Boss AVB said: “We understand players like him have propositions and a market, which is the nature of the game. But as a club we want to keep him here as long as we can.”
The Welsh winger, 23, scored one and made one — and even headed a bizarre late consolation goal for Liverpool.
Bale has now scored 10 goals for club and country this season and AVB knows the world’s biggest clubs will have been alerted by his form.
He added: “We are absolutely amazed with what Gareth can do for us. He is on to a great career.
“Now he is scoring more than last season, getting more of the ball, the team is creating the right conditions for him and, hopefully, he is enjoying it.”
